Hey Waukesha County: Tired of getting Flocked?

Join me on September 11th to speak before the Judiciary and Law Enforcement Committee.

My name is Brendan Lewis, and I made this website as a step-by-step guide and connection to more resources for fellow concerned citizens of Waukesha County.

This is intended to be a bipartisan movement focused on the fundamental failure of Flock's automated license-plate readers (ALPRs) to benefit us. No matter why you want to see them gone or changed, I am with you, and want to give you a platform to have your voice be heard.

Here's how we make change:

Step 1: Submit our proposal to the County Board Chair and County Clerk.

The Judiciary and Law Enforcement Committee meets once monthly. We need to show up when they are meeting so they will listen to us.

Say to them: "I ask the Waukesha County Board of Supervisors to direct the Judiciary and Law Enforcement Committee to add an agenda item on the Committee's meeting on Friday, September 11th, 2026, to discuss and vote on Waukesha County Sheriff's Department's funding and future use of Flock Safety cameras in light of considerations I hope to voice at this meeting."

Step 2: Contact your County Board Supervisor and ask them to add our item to the agenda.

This can be the same message sent to the Board Chair and Clerk.

Step 3: Show Up on September 11th, 2026.

According to Waukesha County's website, "Public comment is welcome at the beginning of each committee meeting on any topic.”

Our goal here is for change, not just to show frustration. Adding an item to the agenda forces them to discuss and vote on further action.

Why did I make this site?

I want to see these cameras decommissioned or their use vastly curtailed.

I am exhausted from worrying if my car might get accidentally tagged for a crime I didn't commit, because of a mistake or a misread by AI.

I am frustrated from hearing of many instances of abuse of these readers by public officers to harass and stalk private citizens.

I am deeply concerned from learning of the security flaws found in these systems that open Flock systems and police servers to hacks, police cruiser tracking, and data manipulation, all without records left.

I am troubled by how little evidence exists for these cameras to reduce crime. Some cities even found that car-related crimes went up after Flock ALPR installation.

So, I made this site to make the change that Waukesha County needs.

Why should you care?

Fundamentally, these systems waste taxpayer money, put law-abiding citizens (and police IT infrastructure) in danger, and make no provable difference in crime rates.

As long as these cameras operate without better oversight of the users, security in the firmware, and safeguards for those subjected to them, there will continue to be stories like those linked above, nationwide.

It is a poorly designed system that nobody asked for, to solve a problem that did not exist, and only causes more of them.
